Why did we put together a site like Link-Trades when we're in the middle of building an e-mall?  Because with so many stores, maintaining and trading links is a real pain.  Plus, all those "don't worry, we'll do it for you" free (just send us this small hidden fee) sites are nickel and diming us to death!  We've been looking and looking for a place where we can just have a forum with other people who want to trade links (free links, that is) without being cheated or charged!  You will notice there are no Visa or Mastercard logos on this site anywhere.  That's because this service in entirely, totally, completely free.  All we ask is that you put the small Link-Trades logo somewhere on your site.  This is for 2 reasons.  First, as you know, the more links you have the higher you go in the search engine order and the higher the ranking the higher they value the link to you.  Also, the higher we are, the more people see us and the more potential linking partners we'll get.  Second, it sends a message to all these so called 'free' link services that charge and charge on the back end, that online retailers are not stupid and won't take it anymore.  Are we going to become the secret police and pull your listing if you don't?  No.  We don't have time.  As you can see, this is a no frills site that is hand edited.  Does it behoove you to post the link?  Absolutely.

When you post a link to a linking partner - make sure you aren't canceling each other out.  Try to nest the reciprocating link somewhere in your site so the links continue to count as high as possible.  Keep checking the Link Trades blog to see how other recent changes to the search engine algorithms affect your site ranking.  Also, if something is working for you, share the wealth!  Post to the blog and help someone else who may be having problems in that particular area!

You'll notice we have our affiliates links in the margins to the right.  They are the ones who pay to keep this site up and running instead of you.  So if you're in the market for some of their products please buy via our link.  It helps us all!

*note: Do not submit multiple pages of the same site to Link-Trades!  You get ONE (1) posting per site.  Hence if your store is ABC, submit ONCE for ABC, not once per every page of your site!  If you want to get extra links on for your subsidiary pages please use the blog.  We will take the first listing, and the first description item and that is what gets posted, the rest end up in the recycle bin.  Save yourself the time and effort and use the blog for links and descriptions for subsidiary pages please!  ~the poor fool hand editing these things~
